The Opportunity
We partner with manufacturers across Mason seeking Buyers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for assigned raw materials and components.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to meet production requirements and cost targets.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to ensure timely material availability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply chain stability.
- Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality, delivery, and cost.
- Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Minimum 3-5 years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material requirements planning, and inventory control.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or material specifications.
- Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Professional certification in purchasing (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
- Proficiency with advanced features of a major ERP system's procurement module (e.g., SAP MM).
