Physician - Adult Hospitalist

MaineHealth Hospital Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine physician for a full-time hospitalist opportunity in Portland. We have availability for general hospitalist work and in particular welcome candidates with a specific interest in medical education, perioperative medicine, oncology, or rural medicine.
MaineHealth Hospital Medicine in the Southern Region now includes more than 70 hospitalists engaged on the frontlines of clinical care, quality improvement, and medical education. The group includes leaders from across the organization and supports the Internal Medicine Hospitalist Track within the IM Residency. Physicians also work closely with advanced practiced professionals (NP/PA) in many aspects of care and will have ready access to point of care ultrasound (POCUS) as part of their daily care.
MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland (MHMMCP) is an academic medical center with 700 licensed beds and is the state's leading tertiary care and teaching hospital with a full complement of residencies and fellowships. MHMMCP is also an integral part of Tufts University Medical School, helping to support the Tufts Maine Track program with more than 40 medical students per year participating in this program. As such, candidates will have the expectation of an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine and access to faculty development provided through the Tufts programs. There are also significant teaching and learning opportunities with internal medicine, medicine-pediatrics and family medicine residents, fellows and the medical students throughout the services centered at Maine Medical Center.
