Role Overview
We are on the lookout for a Senior Data Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimisation of our data architecture. This role combines strategic vision with comprehensive expertise in modern data engineering practices. Your mission will be to establish a robust data ecosystem that empowers advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and real-time decision-making, while adhering to the highest industry standards, including the DAMA-DMBOK principles.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture blueprint that aligns with our business strategy and best practices in data management.
- Work closely with enterprise architects to ensure seamless integration of data architecture into the overall IT and business framework.
- Drive the adoption of data modelling standards, including dimensional modelling and data vault methodologies.
- Manage Master Data Management (MDM) strategy and governance across critical domains such as Customer, Product, and Financial Data.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies, security frameworks, and regulatory standards including GDPR, NDPR, and ISO 270001.
- Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data solutions across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Establish integration patterns for data ingestion utilizing modern tools such as Airbyte and Azure Data Factory.
- Lead the design of transformation layers using Dataform and dbt Cloud, focusing on best practices for version control and deployment.
- Recommend and implement data storage strategies such as Medallion Architecture and Lakehouse patterns.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to provision infrastructure-as-code for data workloads.
- Partner with Data Governance teams to enforce standards for metadata management, data lineage, and business glossary.
- Set up frameworks for data quality and embed automated validation mechanisms in ingestion pipelines.
- Promote data stewardship practices across the organization.
- Serve as the main authority on data architecture, advising C-level executives and other stakeholders.
- Mentor data engineers, analysts, and modellers in best practices for architecture, modelling, and governance.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary workshops to align business needs with architectural design.
- Stay ahead of industry trends to recommend innovative tools and robust patterns for modern data platforms.
- Continuously optimise the cost, performance, and scalability of our data systems.
- Lead initiatives for proof-of-concept projects involving cutting-edge data solutions, including AI-driven tools for data management.
