Description

We are looking for a Lead Electric Transmission Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, tackling complex challenges in electric transmission.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design of high-voltage (HV) and extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground transmission projects for major utilities across the nation.

You will utilize NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other relevant standards to engineer and design electrical overhead and underground systems, work on voltage conversion initiatives, new capacity developments, and infrastructure replacement projects. Your responsibilities will also include performing detailed engineering analyses, preparing bidding documents, drafting plans and specifications, and developing material procurement and construction documents. This role involves collaborating with a multi-person team and engaging with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.

Work Location: Ideally, we seek candidates residing in Colorado or Minnesota for remote work, although all qualified candidates across the U.S. are encouraged to apply.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in designing electric utility transmission systems
  • Experience in reviewing complete transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plan and profiles, and construction packages
  • Familiarity with NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE codes; construction specifications; the material procurement process; project scheduling; and construction work packages
  • Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals
  • Strong team player who can also work independently
  • Excellent communication skills with clients and project teams
  • Leadership experience and ability to supervise others are required
  • Willingness to work in client offices and travel periodically as needed
  • Technical Expertise:
    • PLS-CADD and POLE
    • LPILE or FAD Tools
    • Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT, FE, or Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Familiarity with GO95
  • Additional Program Experience:
    • PLS TOWER
    • Bentley MicroStation
    • Bentley ProjectWise
    • Mathcad
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
  • Experience in construction management and support
