The Clinical Director will play a pivotal role in supervising and training primary care providers (PCPs) in their center. This leader will be responsible for enhancing the execution of our core model by boosting clinical quality, efficiency, outcomes, and satisfaction for both clinicians and patients. While overseeing overall clinical outcomes, the Clinical Director will also provide direct patient care and engage in essential clinical duties, balancing leadership responsibilities with patient-focused activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care for patients with both acute and chronic health issues, particularly in older adult populations.
- Take full ownership of patient care outcomes and consult with specialists as necessary, staying involved in detailed patient management.
- Collaborate with hospitalists for patient management during hospital stays.
- Conduct evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, education, health promotion, and care coordination for complex chronic health needs.
- Lead a dedicated care team, including medical assistants, facilitators, and coordinators for office visits.
- Coordinate care for patients unable to attend the office by engaging with transitional care teams and other available resources.
- Facilitate weekly Super Huddles and Transforming Care Meetings while stepping in for Center clinical leaders when necessary.
- Assist in center management, cover for absent providers, and actively recruit for both patients and new providers.
- Guide, mentor, and coach PCPs to ensure outstanding clinical outcomes.
- Engage in leadership rounding and support financial performance improvements in partnership with center management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and various applications used by the organization.
- Willingness to travel locally as required, with potential for national travel for training and recruiting.
- Fluent in English, both verbal and written; other language skills may be beneficial depending on the center's location.
- Strong independent judgment and decision-making capabilities are essential.
Education and Experience:
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or a related specialty required.
- Active MD licensure in the state of employment.
- A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a geriatric, adult, or family practice setting preferred; ideally as a ChenMed PCP Partner.
- Completion of Chen Medical training, encompassing Masterful Conversations and meeting facilitation.
- Board certification in the relevant specialty preferred; Board eligibility required.
- Maintain DEA registration for controlled substances.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needed within the first 90 days of employment.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $231,876 - $331,251.
