Role:
The HR Operations Specialist supports the Payroll & Benefits Manager in administering employee leave programs, unemployment claims, job accommodations, HRIS reporting and providing backup support for payroll processing. This role ensures compliance with federal, state and company policies while delivering a high level of service to employees and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Leave of Absence Administration
- Manage all types of employee leaves (FMLA, ADA, personal, medical, etc.).
- Coordinate with employees, managers, and third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate leave processing.
- Maintain documentation and track leave status.
- Respond to unemployment claims and coordinate with state agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support claims responses.
- Facilitate the interactive process for ADA accommodations.
- Partner with managers and employees to implement reasonable accommodations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all employee interactions during interactive process.
- Serve as backup for payroll processing during absences or peak periods.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of payroll data.
- Manage OSHA reporting and ensure compliance with federal and state safety regulations.
- Track and report workplace incidents and injuries.
- Coordinate with Safety teams to support investigations and corrective actions.
- Work closely with third party to manage all active WA State L&I claims.
- Prepare and maintain HR reports relative to leave, safety and compliance.
- Support audits and internal reviews with accurate data and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, payroll, leaves and compliance.
- Familiarity of FMLA, ADA, OSHA and unemployment regulations.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to personal development, learning and continuous improvement within HR and professionally.

- Non-Exempt/Hourly: Range from $69,400 - $76,500 depending on qualifications and experience
- Paid Time Off: 5 weeks accrued per year, 8 Company Holidays
