#1 Product Owner - more VMware focused (Aria Suite)

Focus on the experience in a day. After vRA and vRLI complete the infrastructure, the journey of a server build is laid. Requirements get bundled up into JSON, and go into VRA. VRA kicks off the infrastructure and builds the servers to further install software. Ensure all requirements are met and the work is driven. This Product Owner will be focused on this process.

Requirements:
  • 6+ years experience as a Product Owner - knows how to drive work and drive it efficiently
  • Ability to drive a product backlog, backlog prioritization, and backlog refinement
  • Worked in a mature product model/product shop
  • Ability to get requirements and stories created from customers in order to deliver the product quickly
  • Scrum - you will run some Agile ceremonies (only 10% of the job)
  • Strong disciple, able to say no to non-priority items
  • VMware experience specifically in the Aria Suite (vRA, vRLI, vRO)
    • Have an understanding of how these work functionally, be able to talk a little bit of shop (doesn't need to be an expert in VMware)
Aria Suite is part of VMware. These are part of the Aria Suite:
    • vRO = vRealize Orchestrator
    • vRA = vRealize Automation
    • vRLI = vRealize Log Insight Documentation
Notes from our meeting with the Hiring Manager:
  • Candidate should have experience driving product delivery in an Agile environment, meeting with customers, have a strong understanding of how to refine backlogs (workload management), with a delivery-focused mindset.
  • This resource will run occasional Agile ceremonies. They are looking to avoid hiring a Scrum Master, so this Product Owner will come in and DRIVE (this makes up only 10% of the job).
  • Important to have those technical pieces - be able to go to the customers / service partners and can fully understand what's being talked about.
