Job Summary:

Essential Functions:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Marketing/Promotions Intern to provide support to our management team and provide excellent visual experience to our patrons. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This individual will gain valuable experience by assisting with the implementation and execution of in-game entertainment and promotional events in Minor League Baseball. We are looking for an enthusiastic Intern to provide support to our management team and excellent customer service to our patrons. The Intern assists the Creative Services Manager and Marketing & Promotions Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Marketing Department.

Responsibilities:

Duties:

• Create company-wide assets and support departmental initiatives through artistic design
• Incorporate branded campaign elements throughout multiple executions including advertisements, social media, brochures, corporate identity, giveaways, presentations, videoboard content, promotional displays, and signage
• Assist with game day and non-game day social media including creating and scheduling content
• Produce graphics through multiple forms of media
• Assist in design, layout, and formatting of digital and hard materials
• Manages large file deliveries, packaging, and exploring media with an organized workflow environment
• Help develop the overall game day visual and social media presentations
• Assisting with tarp pulls when necessary
• Contribute new and unique ideas to help continue to make Barons Baseball fun
• Distribute promotional items designed to help increase fan spirit and attendance at games
• Interact with fans before, during and after the games
• Keeping upbeat atmosphere before, during and after games
• Perform as mascot at outside events when needed
• Answering phones and communicating game progress
• Assist in creating routines for promotional entertainment
• Perform as mascot in community events around the Birmingham region as scheduled
• Perform on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch
• Running on-field promotions during games, including making sure mascots, props, costumes and power team are in the proper places at the proper time

Education: Required Competencies & Skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with a focus in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; After Effects and Premier Pro knowledge encouraged
• Strong design skills, understanding of design principals and the ability to provide creative visual solutions
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and accept feedback
• Schedule flexibility, including nights and weekends
• Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to problem solve quickly, work efficiently in an intense environment
• Previous sports experience a plus, but not required

General Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25 lbs up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand for up to 5+ hours during a game
• Ability to work long hours, weekends & holidays
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, including but not limited to rain and heat
