General Function

Under limited supervision, the Senior Business Systems Analyst manages IT projects; elicits and documents requirements from staff; works with partners to develop specifications; develops test plans and coordinates and conducts testing in conjunction with department staff; ensures the organization is optimizing its use of business applications; provides recommendations on system improvements to enhance staff efficiency; coordinates and conducts staff training on business applications; resolves business application tickets.

Essential Functions:
  • Assists business staff in the development of project requests and ensures that established processes are followed for intake, review and approval. Evaluates project requests for complexity and risk and makes level of effort (LOE) and scheduling recommendations
  • Manages projects as assigned and ensures that IT projects are executed using best practices
  • Manages BSA services to departments and individuals across the organization
  • Assists business staff in the development of project requests and ensures that established processes are followed for intake, review and approval.
  • Participate in IT project plan development, assessment, backlog creation, prioritization, and sprint creation processes.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement and actively promotes business change; presents solution recommendations to business units for their approval.
  • Provides consultative analysis services to business units for process reviews as well as documentation of rationale and system use and maintenance procedures
  • Develops and ensures delivery of standard curricula for staff training of core AMS modules
  • Ensures accurate configuration of AMS and assist staff in changes to and testing of configuration
  • Elicits requirements from staff using industry standard techniques, including interviews, document review, business flow analysis, use cases/user stories, and flowcharts
  • Assists users with development of test plans for IT projects, and coordinates and executes testing as needed
  • Serves as liaison with the AMS vendor and as the project manager for appropriate system enhancements
  • Performs extracts and queries as required for business process analyses and project quality assurance and metrics
  • Works with departments and external partners to investigate and resolve issues with the AMS and related SAAS systems including software bugs, exception handling, user error, automated process failures, and others as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Background/Skills/Abilities Preferred:
  • BA/BS required, degree in Information Technology, preferred
  • 5-7 years' experience in business analysis, eliciting and documenting requirements, modeling business processes, and developing requirement specifications is required
  • 3-5 years' experience in documenting IT test plans and performing IT testing preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience with T-SQL desired
  • 5-7 years managing projects in a matrix environment using agile, adaptive or hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience with Association Management System (AMS) (netFORUM preferred) and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (Salesforce preferred)
  • Excellent critical thinking, with a proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), including strong presentation skills
  • Promotes cooperation and commitment within the team; seeks input from others, helps others achieve goals and deliverables, and effectively navigates competing priorities and varying perspectives
  • Ability to be flexible, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistently attends to details by demonstrating concern for thoroughness and accuracy
  • Proven time management skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities

CFP Board is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The applicable starting annual base salary is anticipated to be in the range of $132,000.00 to $155,000.00. In addition to base salary, total compensation includes incentive compensation for which employees are eligible based on completion of individual goals.
