Primary Skills: Java (Expert), RestAPI (Expert), AWS (Proficient), Data Structure & Algorithms (Expert), System Design (Intermediate) Contract Type: W2 Duration: 12+ Months with possible extension Location: Redmond, WA OR Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite) Pay Range: $50.00 - $58.00 Per Hour Job Summary: The Manufacturing Systems Engineering team is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop software and frameworks that enhance the speed, quality, and reliability of satellite component testing. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and production teams to drive system repeatability, increase throughput, and accelerate production transitions. The ideal candidate will have experience in backend development using Java or another object-oriented language, along with hands-on expertise in AWS cloud services such as IAM, Lambda, NoSQL/Document DB, Fargate, SNS, and SQS. Responsibilities include participating in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements gathering to deployment and operations. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain backend software systems to support the testing and production of satellite components. Build cloud-native applications and services using AWS technologies, including Lambda, Fargate, NoSQL/Document DB, IAM, SNS, and SQS. Develop APIs, data pipelines, and integration solutions to connect manufacturing systems with production and quality control tools. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support. Must-Have Skills: 5+ years of experience in Java or another object-oriented programming language, with a strong foundation in designing and building scalable backend services. AWS Cloud Expertise – Hands-on experience with AWS services including Lambda, IAM, Fargate, NoSQL/Document DB (e.g., DynamoDB), SNS, and SQS, along with a solid understanding of cloud computing concepts. Strong experience with data structures and algorithms.
