Join us as a Senior Software Engineer - Web Services Development to embark on an exciting journey in reshaping email technology. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge services, leveraging technologies like JMAP, to tackle complex challenges and directly influence our product strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical initiatives by scoping, planning, and prioritizing features collaboratively with the team.
• Shape the product vision by advocating for user needs and influencing feature developments.
• Ensure quality and reliability through thoughtful design, rigorous testing, and comprehensive code reviews.
• Design, build, and maintain services utilizing Python and Typescript while optimizing our email delivery systems.
• Collaborate with global teams, including designers, engineers, and community contributors.
• Contribute to the stability of our services, participating in a shared on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years in software engineering focusing on web infrastructure, service architecture, or DevOps.
• 2+ years in email development, including building and maintaining email services and infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience in creating and managing web services from backend development to cloud deployment.
• 2+ years of proficient experience in Python 3.
• Proven ability to oversee projects from requirements gathering through to delivery and maintenance.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills for effective collaboration across diverse teams.
• Respect for the varied skills and perspectives of team members from different backgrounds.
• Experience in remote work environments, collaborating asynchronously across teams and time zones.
• A strong commitment to open-source development and adherence to open standards.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Keycloak or similar OIDC services.
• Experience with Rust or Java.
• Understanding of DevOps tools like Kubernetes or Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Previous contributions to open-source projects or involvement with open-source communities.
