Description:
We are seeking a locum provider who can read transcranial dopplers.
This capability is essential at our comprehensive center.
The provider will be able to access readings remotely but is also welcome to work in person for inpatient neuro shifts.
The provider must be able to manage both day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
The shifts are flexible depending on patient volume.
The role involves admitting only patients treated for stroke with TNK or mechanical thrombectomy, while other admissions are managed by the hospitalist or intensivist under the direction of the neurohospitalist.
There are no on-call shifts; the work consists of regular shifts with rounding and consultations.
On average, there are approximately 10 consults within a 24-hour period, shared with APPs.
Heavy patient volume is expected, and the provider must be self-motivated.
Our facility is designated as a comprehensive stroke center.
The provider will also perform lumbar punctures and other general neurology procedures for consultations.
Please provide documentation of relevant case logs for lumbar punctures and TNK when presenting bids.
These documents will be required for the interview process.
The patient encounters per shift are estimated to be around 12.
