As a Lead Applied Scientist in the Prime Video Playback Intelligence organization, you will leverage your deep expertise in machine learning and data science, specializing in areas such as video streaming optimization, information retrieval, and advanced AI systems.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and product managers to convert business needs into actionable solutions that elevate customer experience.
- Tackle critical challenges in playback quality across Video on Demand, Live Events, and Linear Content, aiming to enhance user satisfaction while streamlining operational efforts.
- Drive the integration of innovative algorithms into existing frameworks, while simplifying and optimizing modeling processes for maximum efficiency.
- Define cutting-edge research directions, pioneer new machine learning methodologies, conduct rigorous experiments, and publish findings that influence practical applications.
- Engage in organizational leadership initiatives, mentoring talent, and cultivating a strong community of scientific excellence.
- Forge partnerships with external academic institutions to stay at the forefront of industry research.

Basic Qualifications:
- Over 3 years of experience in developing machine learning models for business applications.
- PhD or a Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
- Experience in deep learning methods and machine learning techniques.
- Practical experience in designing AI solutions for real-world scenarios.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, high-impact scientific solutions.

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets, with base pay ranging from $150,400 to $260,000 per year, dependent on several factors including location and experience. Total compensation may also include equity and various benefits.
