Store Designer, Worldwide Grocery Real Estate

This store design position will be part of the Amazon Worldwide Retail Growth & Development. We are an exciting, fast-moving business unit, where everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work effectively in a highly collaborative environment. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently drive multiple projects throughout all phases of design, permitting and construction administration. Key job responsibilities

• \tSolutions oriented, proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an "all hands-on deck" approach

• \tTranslating brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way

• \tWorking across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs

• \tManage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners

• \tAdapting site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs

• \tResponsible for building data driven scope of work with internal stake holders, focused on servicing operating stores

• \tResponsible for development of FF&E and Décor packages

• \tWork with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages

• \tCreate presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership

• \tDrive and create Schematic Design Packages

• \tCoordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts

• \tManage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle

• \tProvide Construction Administrative support as needed

• \tArchive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings

• \tObtain landlord approvals per lease requirements

• \tReview and approves submittals and shop drawings

• \tDemonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends

• \tDemonstrated ability to communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats

• \tThe ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills

• \tThe ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment

About the team

The Amazon Worldwide Retail Growth & Development, Enterprise Team leads the transformation of our existing multi-banner grocery locations through strategic remodels and innovations. We enhance the shopping experience by modernizing store layout, improving operational efficiency, and implementing the latest technology, all while stores remain open for business. Our customer-obsessed design approach focuses on creating seamless shopping experiences for both in-store and online customers, while ensuring our operations teams can work safely and efficiently during and after remodels. We specialize in executing complex renovations that elevate the Amazon experience across our established store network.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite

- Bachelor's degree, or experience as technical specialist in design and architecture

- 5+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- • Grocery experience strongly preferred • Architectural or Interior Design FF&E background preferred • Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, SketchUp, SmartSheet • Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices preferred • Proven track record of owning projects from start to finish • Ability to manage change though multiple projects in various phases of design • Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $58,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $124,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
