Accounts Payable Specialist

Charlotte based service company is seeking a n Accounts Payable Specialist. The Client ounts Payable Assistant is responsible for monitoring the company's billing transactions, ensuring the accurate and efficient completion of the business' financial obligations. Accounts Payable Assistants process invoices, resolve account discrepancies, create expense reports, and updating account information on the company's database. They work within a team of the accounting and finance department, assisting with tax filing and audit processes as needed. An accounts payable assistant must have excellent knowledge of the financial industry and accounting principles to perform various duties, as well as doing administrative and clerical tasks as needed.

Th is is a direct hire position paying an hourly rate of $24-27/hr. with benefits based on experience located on the westside of Charlotte.

Responsibilities:
  • Enter direct bill invoices and sub-contractor invoices in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to system and departmental procedures.
  • Match POs and invoices daily, confirm the items were received and enter invoices on the PO Status Report.
  • Maintain AP reporting pulling data from Servman, confirming GL codes, invoice date and net terms.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations to ensure all past due and missing invoices are captured, calling vendors when needed.
  • Generate monthly voucher report to facilitate system accuracy.
  • Setup, review, and update vendor records as needed.
  • Contact vendors for PO tracking information and issue resolution for items related to Purchase Order Invoices.
  • Support the AP manager with various projects and assignments.


Requirements:
  • Experienced in processing transactions and performing accounting duties.
  • Good listening, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while keeping attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in math and calculations.
  • Competence in financial and bookkeeping software.
  • Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skills to be reactive and proactive, working efficiently and flexibly to deliver results.
  • Capable of building trust, good working relationships and communicate effectively with your superiors, colleagues and across departments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft O365 - Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and OneDrive
