ABOUT YOU | You have a passion for urban development and policy, strong quantitative and qualitative skills, and a deep curiosity about the challenges and opportunities facing cities today. You want to have an impact on the work that you do.
You will bring a capacity for critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration, and are excited to dive into projects on behalf of our clients.
THE ROLE | We are seeking full-time Summer Analysts for 10 weeks in our Dallas, Los Angeles, New York and Washington, DC offices.Summer Analysts will be expected to work in an HR&A office at least three days per week.
Summer Analysts will have the opportunity to engage in project work and practice development as well as employ skills aligned with the core analytical staff at HR&A. Our analyst cohort forms the foundation of our team-oriented structure and helps to drive our data-driven approach to city building.
Summer Analysts may help prepare written reports, presentations, and Excel models for clients, as well as firm marketing materials and proposals for new projects. Day-to-day tasks will range from project to project and may include:
- Market Analysis
- Case Study Research
- Econometric Modeling
- Spatial Analysis
- Real Estate Pro Formas
- Public Policy Analysis

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED | Candidates should be bachelor's students graduating in 2027 who are between their junior and senior year, and master's students graduating in 2027 who are between the first and second year or continuing their program. Students graduating in December 2026 are also eligible for consideration. Preference will be given to candidates with a concentration in urban planning, real estate development/ finance, economic development, public policy, housing finance, sustainability, or a related field.
TIMELINE | Applications will be accepted until 11:59pm ET on Monday, January 12, 2026. Accepted interns will be notified in early March and will begin the Summer Internship Program on Monday, June 1, 2026. The Summer Analyst Internship is anticipated to run until Friday, August 7, 2026. Start and end dates are flexible based on candidate availability.
COMPENSATION | Summer Fellows will be paid a monthly stipend of $6000.
