The Opportunity

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be a crucial member of the CFO Data Delivery and Automation team, responsible for creating and enhancing financial data assets that align with USAA's strategic goals. Your role will involve deep analysis, solution prototyping, and the development of automation strategies, all contributing to scalable data products. You will collaborate closely with IT to transform financial and operational data into powerful analytical tools that enable effective decision-making across the enterprise.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive analyses of complex business challenges by leveraging data from both internal and external sources to provide actionable insights.
• Identifying and interpreting trends within datasets to uncover influences that drive business decisions.
• Formulating specifications for reports and analyses based on the evolving business needs and available data elements.
• Participating in cross-functional teams to address business challenges and offer consultation to users.
• Prototyping solutions to present information that aligns with business requirements.

We promote a flexible work environment, requiring team members to be in the office 4 days a week. This position is available at our locations in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL.

What you'll do:

• Independently gather and define complex business requirements by collaborating with stakeholders to identify their needs.
• Utilize a strong understanding of various data structures to spearhead the development and implementation of Business Intelligence solutions, including data visualization and data transformation.
• Work alongside IT teams to develop analytic frameworks, ensuring adherence to technical standards and governance practices.
• Employ data visualization best practices to uncover trends while maintaining organizational branding.
• Prioritize the user experience and prototype data visualization products to enhance usability and impact.
• Act as a trusted advisor for stakeholders, driving business value through data insights.
• Engage in industry panels or relevant groups to stay current with trends and share knowledge within your team.
• Ensure effective risk management in alignment with established policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline; or 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• 4 years of experience in data analytics or functional business roles in industries like P&C, banking, or finance; or an advanced degree with 2 years of experience.
• Proven experience in crafting innovative solutions to complex business challenges.
• Experience with Business Intelligence platforms and SQL-based languages (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects, Snowflake).
• A track record of building partnerships across various organizational levels.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting insights to all management levels.
• Experience in storytelling through data visualization solutions.

What sets you apart:

• Hands-on experience with SQL and Python programming.
• Proficient in Snowflake for data warehousing and analytics.
• Ability to analyze data across relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Track record of automating processes and improving reporting workflows.
• Experience in defining IT requirements and collaborating on strategic initiatives.
• Familiarity with financial data and Oracle EPM/ERP systems.

Compensation range: The salary for this position ranges from $85,040 to $162,550, commensurate with experience and location.
