Development Technician

As a Development Technician, you will prepare and apply laboratory quantities of powder coatings, followed by testing these coatings against multiple specifications and customer requirements. The data you produce will support the Technical Department's main functions: product development, manufacturing, and customer support. You will work onsite at our Gainesville, TX plant and report to the Color Lab Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
- Process prototype powder formulations using powder processing equipment
- Apply powder coating formulations to test substrates
- Perform color matching of powder coatings
- Conduct testing and summarize experimental results
- Complete projects within defined scope and timelines
- Collaborate with colleagues across the laboratory
- Develop and maintain knowledge of formulation, application processes, and sample evaluation methods
- Follow all lab safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including routine lab upkeep
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1+ years of Powder Coatings experience preferred
- Strong math skills; high school-level chemistry knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
