The Opportunity

USAA is enhancing its digital experience to better serve our members' evolving needs. To support this, we are expanding our marketing analytics team with a focus on paid media optimization to drive efficiency and growth. We are looking for a Paid Media Decision Science Analyst to be a foundational member of our marketing team, playing a critical role in shaping data-driven improvements across our digital sales experience.

In this role, you’ll leverage your marketing analytics skills to deliver impactful insights and scalable frameworks that translate data into actionable strategies. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise and business understanding, capable of building trust through data and empowering decision-making throughout the organization.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires you to be in the office for 4 days per week. The position is available in the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What You'll Do:

  • Leverage intermediate and advanced business and analytical knowledge to collaborate with cross-functional teams on business objectives and influence solution strategies.
  • Apply advanced analytical techniques to solve medium to large-scale business problems impacting current and future strategies.
  • Utilize scientific and quantitative approaches to draw conclusions and make actionable recommendations that drive change.
  • Communicate recommendations effectively to colleagues and management through presentation materials.
  • Incorporate data visualization techniques to support analysis and enhance understanding for non-technical audiences.
  • Identify and gather relevant data sources needed to address business problems through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA).
  • Integrate and transform disparate data sources while applying appropriate data hygiene techniques.
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, validations, and testing to facilitate peer reviews and compliance.
  • Adopt emerging technologies that enhance scientific methodologies and analytical approaches to problem-solving.
  • Deliver findings in a clear manner that influences management and drives business decisions.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies.

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data Science, or similar; OR 4 years of related experience may substitute for degree.
  • 4 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within relevant industries (e.g., P&C, Banking, Finance)
    OR
    An advanced degree in quantitative analytics plus 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated competency in statistical techniques that drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Intermediate and some advanced knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, SQL, SAS, BI tools, or other analysis software, and the ability to connect insights to business challenges.

What Sets You Apart:

  • 2+ years of experience in paid media analytics and related platform experience.
  • Proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.
  • Experience with tagging tools like Tealium or Google Tag Manager.
  • Ability to perform journey analysis by mining clickstream and behavioral data.
  • SQL proficiency required; Python knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with predictive modeling.

Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is: $93,770 - $179,240.

Compensation: At USAA, we assess market data and establish salary ranges to stay competitive. Your pay within this range will depend on your experience and market data. Actual salary may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on individual and corporate performance.
