Description

The Amazon Advertising Sales Incentive Compensation team is seeking a Sales Compensation Analyst to drive analytics throughout the Ads incentive compensation program. The charter for our team is to Enable the growth of Amazon Ads through effective sales compensation design, governance and operations.

The ideal candidate for the role will be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who excels in written and verbal communication, data analysis, modeling and process improvements. They will demonstrate teamwork, relationship building and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization, while thriving in a fast-paced dynamic environment that has a considerable amount of ambiguity. They help deliver data-driven insights that will be foundational to optimizing sales planning, performance targets, and sales compensation for Amazon Ads. They will have deep experience with variable compensation plans and associated analytics to drive data driven decisions. They will partner with Amazon Ads’ sales incentive compensation design, planning, policy, and enablement teams.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the foundational data and key business drivers to Amazon Ads variable compensation.

• Design and implement a comprehensive reporting & analytical roadmap to derive key decisions. Build out capabilities for Gen AI to deliver insights into existing data, tools and workstreams. Automate repeated processes around monthly, quarterly and annual processes.

• Compensation cost controllership: Cost and administer in plan and above plan incentives (e.g., Quotas, SPIF, MBO). Support financial budgeting and forecasting processes across total portfolio.

• Strong verbal and written communications to share findings with business leaders, finance, and technical teams to influence decision-making and product enhancements.

• Have a passion for sales compensation and the impact the work will have on all customers.

• Quality and timely insights. Scale quarterly insights that provide details to leaders throughout organization. Ability to provide team and seller level trends and performance to teams that provide actionable insights.

• Automation. Build out capabilities for AI to deliver insights into existing data, tools and workstreams. Automate repeated processes around monthly, quarterly and annual processes.

• Cross Functional Collaboration. Partner with finance team to align compensation impact to financial plan. Run analysis around correlation of SIC payouts to overall financial performance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 5+ years of finance, business management and sales operations experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a high-growth, technology company

  • Experience with data visualization software (e.g., AWS QuickSight or Tableau) or open-source project

  • Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent

  • Experience with sales CRM tools such as Salesforce or similar software

  • Experience developing and implementing systems/tools utilized for CRM, variable compensation, revenue reporting, forecasting, Salesforce automation, etc.

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $79,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $169,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
