JOB SUMMARY:

As an Energy Market Analyst supporting our commercial LNG team, you will play a key role in analyzing global gas and LNG market fundamentals, pricing trends, and trade flows. You'll work closely with commercial stakeholders to conduct market research and analysis, and support business development efforts through data-driven insights. This role involves collaboration across a global team, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to navigate diverse market perspectives. Your work will draw from industry data sources and research publications, and you'll use tools like Python, SQL, Excel, and Power BI to build dashboards, models, and forecasts. A strong understanding of LNG supply-demand dynamics, shipping and infrastructure, and regulatory and policy developments is essential.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Analyze global LNG and natural gas market fundamentals, including supply-demand balances, trade flows, and pricing trends.
  • Conduct market research using industry data sources and research publications to support commercial strategy and business development.
  • Build and maintain analytical models and dashboards using Python, SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory, geopolitical, and policy developments affecting LNG markets.
  • Collaborate with global commercial teams to deliver timely insights and support cross-regional initiatives.
  • Prepare concise reports, presentations, and briefings for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Contribute to forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making through quantitative analysis.
  • Maintain and enhance internal data pipelines and tools to improve efficiency and data accessibility.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 5% domestic or international travel.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Energy or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within the energy or finance industry.
  • 3+ years' LNG fundamentals experience required.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL) and data visualization tools (Power BI).
  • Understanding of energy market concepts, including supply and demand and pricing mechanisms, and their interaction with geopolitics and public policy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
