Physician Assistant - Surgical First Assistant (General Surgery) (Full Time)
Department: Surgery
Location: 1326 Eisenhower Drive, Savannah, GA

SouthCoast Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant Surgical First Assistant to join our General Surgery team. This position plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by providing support to our surgeons in a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-assist support in laparoscopic, robotic, and open surgical procedures.
  • Aid surgeons in initiating and completing surgical cases.
  • Document all patient encounters and care accurately in the medical record.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including CPR administration.
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with physicians, nursing, and ancillary teams.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and professional standards in all clinical activities.
  • Support other clinical duties as assigned by supervising physicians.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Physician Assistant program (BA/BS and Masters required).
  • Current Georgia PA license and NCCPA certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in a hospital OR setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and teamwork skills.
