Position Overview
The Pharmacy Support Technician plays a critical role in providing essential support to PACE clients and their participants, working closely with network pharmacies to ensure high-quality service. Under the supervision of the Director or Manager, you'll help bridge the service gap for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and accurately fill electronic prescriptions and refill requests under Pharmacist guidance.
- Handle pharmacy tasks including counting, mixing, and packaging medications.
- Assist with minor edits to ensure accurate dispensing quantities and NDCs.
- Conduct reclamation duties and utilize pharmacy software for prescription data management.
- Act as a liaison for clients, managing incoming communication to enhance customer experience.
- Maintain patient profiles and document medication care plans using advanced software.
- Ensure compliance and operational efficiency while participating in quality initiatives.
- Secure sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA and company privacy guidelines.
Qualifications
- High level of integrity, quality-oriented, innovative, and steadfast work ethic.
Education Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience
- At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a retail setting.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and capable of navigating pharmacy software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong focus on patient-centered care.
- Able to multitask and prioritize effectively without compromising quality.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Physical & Mental Demands
This role includes administrative tasks that require hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking. Candidates must be able to commute to multiple locations within assigned territories and may need to work extended hours as necessary.
Work Schedule
- Work Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Wednesday through Sunday.
- This is a full-time position requiring approximately 40 hours per week with potential adjustments to meet organizational needs.
- Willingness to participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules as required.
