Who You Are:

As a Senior Software Development Engineer at Hometap, you will be essential in designing, testing, and scaling software that allows homeowners to tap into their home equity. You will play a key role in shaping our technology as we expand our services nationwide. The ideal candidate possesses extensive software development expertise in Python and JavaScript, a commitment to high code quality, and a strong drive to achieve results. While our engineering team encompasses full-stack expertise, we recognize that candidates will likely have a preference for either front-end or back-end development.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build, and test innovative software solutions using Python and JavaScript (TypeScript).
• Develop integrations with various internal and external tools, such as Digifi.io, Salesforce, AVM providers, credit bureaus, Segment, and Camunda.
• Lead the creation of new tools and processes to enhance workflow efficiency.
• Uphold high standards for code quality and best practices through thorough code reviews.
• Implement vital analytics to support a data-driven company culture.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders utilizing Agile methodologies.
• Provide mentorship and support to our expanding engineering team.

What You Bring:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Python and its frameworks (preferably Django), as well as JavaScript and frameworks (React).
• Strong skills in querying databases using SQL and/or ORMs.
• Experience with unit-testing frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency in Git or equivalent version control systems.
• Knowledge of API design, development, and documentation practices.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in developing products that require a high level of security.
• Familiarity with the Fintech sector.
