Within an approximately 500-bed, Joint Commission-accredited regional teaching hospital, the Clinical RN Education Coordinator will support a shared-governance nursing culture and an oncology program recognized for quality outcomes.
The Clinical RN Education Coordinator reports to the Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Education, partnering closely with the Chief Nursing Officer on strategic priorities. Unit-based educators, preceptors, and clinical champions align in a dotted-line relationship to the Clinical RN Education Coordinator, while close collaboration is expected with service-line managers, quality and infection prevention, physician leaders, HR, and the nurse residency program. The Clinical RN Education Coordinator will also coordinate with informatics and supply/biomed teams to implement practice updates.
Dedicated to a comprehensive cancer service line and key inpatient units, the Clinical RN Education Coordinator supports onboarding and competency for RNs overseeing more than 40 inpatient oncology beds, 20+ infusion chairs, and adjacent radiation oncology and surgical oncology services.
As the Clinical RN Education Coordinator, core responsibilities include designing and delivering orientation for new patient care employees, re-orienting current staff to policy, procedural, and regulatory changes, and facilitating skills labs, simulations, and one-to-one clinical coaching . The Clinical RN Education Coordinator will prepare, direct, and schedule education on high-impact topics and emerging technologies; develop and revise documentation tools to meet standards; maintain comprehensive education records and resource files; directly supervise patient care employees at least annually; and drive quality-improvement initiatives in collaboration with leadership. Administrative scope for the Clinical RN Education Coordinator includes aligning education budgets and staffing, coordinating vendor and physician-led trainings, stewarding policy development and revisions, and optimizing the learning management system for compliance and competency tracking.
