Purpose and Scope
The USA Field Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Membership Recruitment & USA Field Operations and will develop relational connections with USA Field Officers, USA state leaders, and USA Zone Trustees. His focus will be equipping leaders to ensure The Gideons International thrives as a spiritual ministry where Christian business and professional men strengthen their Christian testimony and fulfill their God-given responsibilities as spiritual leaders. His target audience will include ministry leaders primarily in a single zone, USA Field Officers. He must be capable of balancing spiritual preparation and readiness with the practical work of the Association.
They achieve results by coaching and modeling:
- A focus on the character of the man and the spiritual preparation that is a prerequisite for the practical work of the Association.
- How to leverage a man's God-given acumen of influence for the practical work of the Association.
- The practical work of engaging people (members, candidates & pastors) in the efforts of the Association to pursue its mission.
- How to lead a team without authority as he rallies his team of USA Field Officers to diligently pursue the Association's strategy for the USA.
Essential Job Functions
Spiritual Leadership
- Demonstrates a solid, visible relationship with Jesus Christ which is evidenced by a heart for God, which then translates into a genuine, deep love for others and a concern that others also know Jesus Christ as their Savior. Possesses a Christ-like attitude in dealing with others inside and outside of The Gideons International, while faithfully upholding The Gideons International's ministry in prayer.
- Encourage USA Field Officers and ministry leaders in their Christian walk with a compelling focus on building Godly character and strengthening the witness and testimony of members.
- Include spiritual growth components in all field training (and activity) including evangelism, practicing spiritual disciplines, and discipleship.
- Directs the development of the USA Field Officers. He provides the necessary leadership and accountability to influence their strong Christian testimony and fulfill their God-given responsibilities as spiritual leaders.
- Lead others by example to develop and expand their personal witnessing skills and train members how to effectively present Personal Workers' Testaments and a word of witness.
- Lead morning staff devotions, as part of rotating team, through prayer, worship, and Scripture reading, in addition to providing comments on the Scripture passage.
- Manage, coach, and mentor USA Field Officers and state leaders.
- Manage expense reports with USA Field Officers to ensure timely reimbursement of expenses.
- Lead the annual review process for each USA Field Officer within their assigned zone.
- Facilitate training sessions with USA Field Officers based on analysis of field work results.
- Adhere to all association policies, procedures, and business ethics codes and ensure they are communicated and implemented
- Drive membership recruitment in the assigned USA state associations, personally working with at least 4 camps per month (48 per year).
- Provide support and advise the USA state leadership to ensure every camp carries out a successful membership event every year.
- Ensures assigned USA Field Officers are successful in carrying out membership field assignments (minimum of 2 camps per month).
- Execute field assignments as directed: Coach and model for leaders how to plan and conduct effective member activity including.
- Membership enlistment activities (Annual Membership Dinners, Gideon Opportunity Events, Church Opportunity Events, and Individual Enlistment)
- Member engagement
- Church Relations Days (with training)
- Other training as assigned
- Conduct follow-up reviews with USA Field Officers, along with state and camp leadership to track results and gather feedback.
- Suggest interventions as appropriate to state cabinet members and assist to implement interventions for corrective action.
- Meet or exceed mutually agreed-upon goals for all aspects of field work.
- Visit seminaries or Bible colleges (with local Gideons for training).
- Proper promotion and implementation of each ministry program supported and facilitated through the USA Field Managers and USA Field Officers with prioritization from the Division Director.
- Support the development, implementation and management of a sustainable and scalable model for the development of a vibrant ministry of The Gideons International in metropolitan communities including the International Convention host city.
- Maintains timely activity reports, expense reports, itineraries, and other requested reports.
- Recognize, evaluate, pursue and promote new ideas and opportunities to increase the impact of the Association.
- Identify and communicate areas of opportunity for continuous improvement.
- Intentionally build positive working relationships with internal staff, external members, and pastors.
- Supply news items of national and international interest to the Membership Engagement Division.
- Display initiative, and self-motivation and deliver high-quality work while at the same time, meeting all deadlines for both internal and external customers.
- Serve as Assistant Leader at International Scripture Blitzes, as assigned.
- Carry out responsibilities at International Convention as assigned.
- Carry out other assigned duties.
