Job Summary:

We are seeking a MongoDB Expert with deep hands-on experience in database design, performance tuning, scaling, and data modeling. The ideal candidate will own the full lifecycle of MongoDB deployments - from schema design to replication, sharding, backup, and monitoring - ensuring high availability, security, and reliability of mission-critical data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage MongoDB clusters, including replica sets and sharded clusters.
  • Develop and optimize data models for high performance and scalability.
  • Perform query tuning, indexing strategies, and aggregation optimization.
  • Implement backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies using tools like Ops Manager or Atlas.
  • Manage MongoDB Atlas / On-prem environments and automate operational tasks.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues, replication lag, and slow queries.
  • Collaborate with developers to optimize data access patterns and integrate MongoDB with backend applications (Node.js, Python, Java, etc.).
  • Define and enforce data governance, security, and access control standards.
  • Work with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipeline integration and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Keep MongoDB environments up to date with latest versions and patches.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of professional experience working with MongoDB in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MongoDB architecture, replication, and sharding concepts.
  • Expertise in query profiling, indexing, aggregation framework, and performance optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, or similar tools.
  • Proficiency with Linux, Shell scripting, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with JSON/BSON, NoSQL data design principles, and ACID/BASE trade-offs.
  • Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and data replication strategies.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure automation.
  • Knowledge of security best practices, including authentication, encryption, and auditing.
