Description
Wallace Montgomery is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to join our Richmond or Fairfax, Virginia office. In this role, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team developing structure and bridge construction documents for transportation related projects in Virginia, with a focus on Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and other local municipalities.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare structure and bridge design calculations, plans, and estimates for bridge and highway structure projects, including new designs, rehabilitations, and replacements.
- Assist with and/or lead NBIS-compliant Bridge Safety Inspections.
- Conduct and review structural modeling and analysis using MicroStation, OpenBridge, Mathcad, Brass, AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR), MDX, or individual LEAP products (Steel, Concrete, and RCPier).
- Collaborate with roadway, drainage, geotechnical, traffic, and environmental staff to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Support the development of construction documents and specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide quality control/assurance efforts.
- Bachelor of Science Degree Required
- Professional Engineer License
- 5-7 years' experience preferred
