The RoleAs a Senior Consultant in the Corporate practice within Risk and Analytics, you will work on and assist project teams focused on developing and delivering reserve studies, pricing/funding analyses and captive consulting activities for our healthcare and corporate clients. You will be responsible for leading the team through data preparation as well as producing and analyzing initial results. You will work closely with a variety of senior colleagues who will help you increase your industry knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills – all while providing a blend of client facing skills as well. You will play a role in supporting our marketing efforts and the growth of this practice area. As a project manager, you will bring order and process to the client teams with whom you work, and you will serve as a resource to analysts as you help them build their technical and client-facing expertise. As part of our Corporate practice, you will be mentored by more senior colleagues with deep relevant experience.The Business The Risk and Analytics Corporate Practice includes over 100 actuarial professionals focused on large market, . clients. Our primary services include reserving and funding for retained losses, captive feasibility, retention optimization, and cost allocation models. We also perform actuarial analyses of loyalty programs for hospitality, airlines and financial institutions, and are actively involved in the development of capital modeling and predictive analytics solutions for our clients.As a Senior Consultant, you will contribute to varied and interesting projects such as:Self-insurance and captives reviews, including:Pricing/funding analysesLiability valuationsCaptive feasibilityRisk retention optimizationModeling of risk diversification and capital/surplus requirementsAnalysis of loyalty reward programs for various industriesInternal development of practice/industry tools, benchmarks and informationThe ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a motivated, independent learner, looking to deliver exceptional performance in the following areas:ExcellenceAssist with actuarial activities on various project teamsPrepare the first draft of client deliverables for review by more senior colleagues on project teamsSeek and participate in key learning and development opportunitiesMaintain steady progress through exams (if applicable)PeopleBuild strong internal relationships and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teamsDemonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels Train, mentor and serve as a best practices resource for junior colleagues, new staff and project team associatesClientsDeliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clientsDeliver work in accordance with project deadlinesGrow and forge new relationships with clients; play an active role in client communications and delivery of resultsExperienced colleagues will serve as the project manager on some projects which includes:Creating project plansMonitoring progress to deadlines and budgetIncreased client interactionScheduling and managing regular status meeting callsEnsuring appropriate and effective communication among team members and the clientDelivering projects that meet or exceed client expectationsIncreasing efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processesFinancialMeet billable hour goalsPerform work efficiently and look for process efficienciesAs project manager, support project profitability through effective project managementContribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to RFPs
