CNC Mill Machinist

CNC Mill Machinist – National Heights, PADirect Hire $ -$ -day work week Mon -Thurs am - pm or pm - am; Tues-Fri am-pm or pm-am Description : Sets up and operates computer numerical control (CNC) milling machines to produce precision parts from raw materials by interpreting blueprints, setting up the machines, and monitoring their operation. Key responsibilities include setting up the machine, programming and adjusting controls, and using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to read technical drawings Duties: Interpret blueprints, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and use precision measuring tools. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials. Observe the machine during operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Verify dimensions of finished part using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, gage pins, etc. Properly deburr edges and holes of parts. Protect parts from damage during run and subsequent operations. Ability to troubleshoot issues and make adjustments to ensure part accuracy and efficient production. Maintain equipment in good working order, organize tooling and fixtures utilizing lean principles. Collaborate with department leads, supervisors, and/or management to troubleshoot and report equipment issues promptly. Other duties as required Qualifications: Ability to set up and operate CNC Mills. Ability to read blueprints and sketches, understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), Ability to identify company, drawing and revision level, identify tolerance, interpret bill of materials (BOM).
