Valued Team member: We are glad you are exploring new opportunities within Zimmer BiometWhat You Can ExpectResponsible for providing manufacturing engineering services to support efficient manufacturing processes. Engineering services include process development, process validation, cell management, project management, tool design, and troubleshooting. Create, maintain, and improve controlled technical documents, such as prints, procedures, bill of materials and routers. Conduct feasibility studies to estimate product costs and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements. Establish and improve process methods which meet performance and quality requirements. Develop and execute project plans and schedules for work activities. Support a wide variety of processing applications, including machining, finishing, cleaning, laser marking, and polishing. Evaluate multiple options to select the most appropriate processes and machining methods. Execute equipment qualification or process validation projects.How You'll Create Impact Maintaining and improving controlled technical documents such as prints, procedures, bill of materials, and routers.Supporting a wide variety of processing applications such as machining, finishing, cleaning, laser marking, and polishing, etc.Conducting feasibility study to estimate product cost and analyze capital equipment, capacity, and capability requirements.Improving process methods which meet performance and quality requirements.Executing to project plans and schedules for work activities.Communicate (written and verbal) with appropriate personnel from other departments.Evaluating multiple options to select the most appropriate processes and machining methodsExecute equipment qualification or process validation project(s)What Makes You Stand Out Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Ability to balance quality, compliance, and safety to meet customer requirementsAbility to handle and prioritize multiple medium complexity project assignments and complete work in a timely mannerGood problem solving skills through the use of quality and statistical toolsAbility to effectively work within a cross-functional team to complete critical project tasksDemonstrates good written and verbal communication skillsMicrosoft Office Suite and ProjectYour Background Must be actively enrolled in an academic program for the entire duration of the assignment.Must be available to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the co-op sessionMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorshipMinimum status as a sophomore in a Bachelor's Degree program. Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field is preferred.GPA of 3.0+ preferredExperience working with layout design and 3d modeling as well as process improvement work using the DMAIC model.Travel ExpectationsNone; optional opportunities may be available.EOE/M/F/Vet/Disability
