Shore Leave, a tropical bar and sushi restaurant by Chef Colin Lynch, is currently seeking a Sous Chef. Shore Leave is looking for the right candidate to join our well established Traveler Hospitality Restaurant Group and help lead our team.Candidates should be motivated, patient, collaborative, and humble. We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership skills who can manage and guide our staff. A Sous Chef that aims for balance between upholding the company’s standards and maintaining a safe and happy work environment. A passion for Japanese ingredients and sushi is a must. JOB DESCRIPTION: As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for acting in a manner befitting an employee of Shore Leave and will be expected to always represent our team in and out of the workplace. We are proud of the work we do here and want nothing more than you to be proud of yourself and your peers. You will be responsible for the day-to-day consistency of product and execution of all food. You will assist the managing partners in the day-to-day management of all line level BOH employees. Oversees the prep team, dish team, and line cooks. Reports to managing partners and General Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all quality, consistency of product Monthly inventories Work with Management team to meet or exceed all budgetary goals Organize all recipes, menu changes and private event menus and prep lists participate in all menu development Schedule all cooks and support teams Hold staff accountable for cleanliness and organization Communicate changes of menus to all necessary team members Ordering Invoice management and processing Participate in manager meetings Controlling costs and expenses EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Minimum 2 years experience in kitchen management Sushi experience is not required but is considered a major advantage Serve Safe certified Choking and CPR certified BENEFITS: Health Insurance (50% contribution) Dental Insurance (voluntary) 401K Employee Assistance Program Commuter Assistance Employee Discount Paid Time Off COMPENSATION: 65k-75k based on experience
