The primary function of this position is to code, and audit coding of Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes and apply product appropriate Revenue Codes per CMS guidelines. In addition, this role supports secondary research and data enrichment tasks to drive accuracy, consistency, and completeness of enriched data as it relates to medical-surgical devices and supplies. We are committed to building a team that represents a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills.Primary Responsibilities: Sources and enriches transactional data elements based on defined standards relative to medical surgical devices and supplies to ensure data quality for the GHX customer base. Ensures timely delivery of accurate data. Works closely with Product Operations Manager to provide timely feedback for requirements supporting operational needs. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures that support Content Operations goals and objectives.Ability to contribute different thoughts, ideas and viewpoints that lead to greater innovation on projects and cross-functional collaborative efforts.  Skills & Abilities:  Applicable experience in the healthcare, life sciences, or medical technology industry.Have advanced level knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of HCPCS coding.Strong understanding of medical product functionality and terminology.Experience obtaining, reviewing, and collating information from a variety of sources, particularly related to medical devices/medical equipment.Must be able to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.Excellent English comprehension and written communication skills.High degree of proficiency in MS Excel required.Project management skills a plus.Supply Chain knowledge preferred. Basic understanding of the UNSPSC preferred. Understanding of distributor/manufacturer relationships preferred.Ability to travel up to 15% annually. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Systems or a healthcare-related discipline (e.g., biotechnology, biomedical engineering, or medical electronics.Must have a minimum of 2 years medical coding experience (encompassing multiple clinical specialties) and a minimum of 1 year of medical auditing experience.Completion of a certified medical coder education curriculum or coding certification.Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coder Specialist-Physician (CCS-P), and/or Certified Coder Specialist (CCS).We are looking for someone who is proficient in the role requirements, but who also brings a unique perspective and diversity of thought to our team. Preferred Qualifications: SQL knowledge Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT Procedural Codes and/or UNSPSC  Estimated hourly compensation: $24.95 - $31.15 The base hourly range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX’s salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX’s total compensation package for employees.
