Telecommunications Mechanic II

Job Description PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercises independent judgment, as well as a high level of analytical skill, in solving complex and unusual technical, administrative, and managerial problems, and documenting and communicating results at all levels Performs research, design and implementation of data, voice, and video solutions utilizing cellular technologies Supports the installation and commissioning and operations and maintenance of cellular systems Requirements MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Secret Clearance Four (4) years' experience including both shipboard and shore station with at least four (4) of the following equipment/ systems/programs: MF, HF, VHF, UHF and SATCOM communication systems (including high and low power)US/NATO secure voice systemsRadar systemsLifecycle replacementsDGPS radio beacon transmitters, telephone systems, IP-PBX, switches and RADHAZ/EMI control measures or like systems and knowledge of telecommunications installation requirements and procedures Procurement/production and installationExperience breaking down complex problems and generating actionable plans to solve them DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS: Should have experience with cellular networks and configuration (prefer GSM and UMTS experience), including the Mobile Switching Center (MSC), Radio Access Network (RAN), associated servers, and gateways (PSTN and media gateway) and interfaces (IuB, Abis, Gi, etc.) SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET LEVEL.
