Job Summary The Student Assistant will support University Housing as a Resident Director Administrator on the Statesboro Campus or the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2025. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Responsibilities Attend and participate in all required staff meetings and training sessions, as decided on by complex leadership and/or Assistant/Associate Director of Residence EducationMeeting with Resident Director(s) regularly to assess needs of community leadership and teamAcquiring hall supplies and shopping for programming materials to support community programmingManaging receipts and petty cash, in accordance with all University System of Georgia and departmental expectationsMaintain accurate records of all transactions and inventory program suppliesEffectively communicate with the complex leadership team and Resident Advisor peers regarding needs and support areas of the teamAssist with Eagle Preview or other welcome/Admissions events for incoming studentsComplete administrative duties (printing/copying, scanning, organizing documents/data entry)Monitor and organize staff and clubhouse supplies and equipment used by complex staff members Assist with the completion of room inventories and building opening/ closing tasks, especially during Operation Move In and Operation Move Out time periodsAssist with building maintenance walkthroughs and submitting work orders, as applicableUpdate building calendar of eventsAssist with building communication methods (email/newsletter/social media)Know, abide by, and serve as a role model for all University Housing policiesServe as a professional ambassador for Georgia Southern through appearance, pleasant demeanor, helpful disposition, and responsive attitudeMaintain appropriate levels of confidentiality and appropriate use of access to sensitive information, keys, and card access pointsAppropriately address or notify other staff of the need to address any policy violations or crisis management concernsEnsure time worked is correctly recorded and in keeping with the policies set forth by the USG and Human ResourcesShift Specifics Up to 25 hours per weekFlexible with schedule of availabilityShifts available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PMSome shifts available on nights and weekends Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsMust be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
