The incumbent will be joining a team that has proficiency in environmental and socio-economic impact assessments, planning, permitting, construction monitoring, stakeholder, and Indigenous engagement. This role is remote/flexible. Responsibilities: Direct the environmental planning for multi-disciplinary transportation and infrastructure projects, including environmental impact assessments and related studiesWork in collaboration with the team to provide environmental services, primarily in the areas of environmental and socio-economic impact assessments (e.g., EAs/EIAs/ESIAs), planning, permitting, construction monitoring, and stakeholder and Indigenous engagement.Provide guidance in the preparation of regulatory roadmaps, environmental permit applications, environmental protection plans, and monitoring plans, and the implementation of environmental monitoring programsUndertake quality reviews of project deliverables, including environmental assessments and technical documents that would support regulatory approvals Offer technical leadership to the team by providing strategic advice and utilizing project management skills to deliver high-quality products and services to clientsConsult with regulators and clients and oversee innovative programs that would engage Indigenous communities and project stakeholdersContribute to the growth of the team by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key clients, identifying new project opportunities, and supporting proposals for the teamMentor junior and intermediate staff by identifying career goals and development opportunities Provide guidance in navigating EIA requirements, environmental permitting, and related authorization processes relevant to infrastructure projects in OntarioQualifications: Bachelor or master’s degree in planning, environmental studies, environmental science, or a related disciplineMust have at least 15 years of experience conducting and managing environmental impact assessments, with a focus on municipal and transportation projectsExperience with MTO RAQS qualifications & TPAP.Existing client relationships with MTO, Metrolinx, and Ontario municipalitiesExperience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement toolsExperience with business development and building client relationshipsMembership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and Canadian Institute of Professional Planners (RPP and MCIP) or P.
