About this Position Title: Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language PathologyStart Date: August 2026Type: Career Track (Clinical Faculty) The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Oklahoma State University seeks applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology with a start date of August 2026. Clinical interests should include adult communication and swallowing disorders. This is a non-tenure track position with an initial contract of 3 years. Reappointments and promotions will be based on performance and availability of funding. Responsibilities The Clinical Assistant Professor will play a vital role in our clinical education program by directly supervising 15-18 senior clinicians and graduate students each semester at the OSU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic. This individual will provide hands-on observation and feedback during evaluations and therapy sessions involving adult clients with a range of cognitive-communication disorders including aphasia, dementia, dysphagia, dysarthrias (including Parkinson’s disease), voice/ resonance disorders, or other neurodegenerative diseases. Given that our clinic bills insurance for its services, the Clinical Assistant Professor will also guide students in preparing the necessary documentation to ensure compliance and reimbursement. The individual will meet with each student on a weekly basis to review clinical performance, provide mentorship, and ensure continued growth and competence in clinical skills. As needed, the individual may be assigned classes in their area(s) of expertise to fulfill their workload obligations. The Clinical Assistant Professor will also contribute to the department’s shared governance and service missions by actively participating in committee work and engaging with professional organizations. Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) Three years of experience as a practicing speech-language pathologist. Eligibility for Oklahoma licensure as a speech-language pathologist. Two hours of professional development in supervision and/or clinical instruction. Preferred Qualifications Expertise with adult populations including people with cognitive-communication disorders including aphasia, dementia, dysphagia, dysarthrias (including Parkinson’s disease), voice/ resonance disorders, or other neurodegenerative diseases. About the Department The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CDIS) at Oklahoma State University is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.
