We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained in accordance with established protocols. Your expertise will contribute to the safety and effectiveness of patient care within our facility.
*Duties*
* Perform thorough cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment using appropriate techniques and equipment.
* Maintain accurate inventory management of sterile supplies, ensuring that all items are accounted for and readily available for use.
* Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the handling of sterile items.
* Collaborate with surgical teams to understand specific needs for instruments and supplies during procedures.
* Document sterilization processes and maintain records in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Stay informed about current medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to enhance understanding of the tools and procedures involved in patient care.
* Participate in ongoing training and education to remain current with best practices in sterile processing.
*Qualifications*
* Knowledge of physiology and anatomy is essential for understanding the use of various instruments.
* Familiarity with medical terminology is required to effectively communicate within the healthcare environment.
* Experience or training in sterile processing techniques is preferred.
* Strong inventory management skills to ensure proper tracking of supplies.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
