Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilizes a trauma-informed approach to client care.
Performs individual, group and crisis intervention counseling and therapy.
Conducts assessments and formulates diagnostic impressions by conducting individual/family interviews.
Facilitates group therapy utilizing evidence-based curricula.
Develop client-centered treatment plans based on the needs, strengths, abilities and preferences of the client.
Assists clients in crisis by evaluating and providing appropriate interventions.
Develops plans for transition and discharge.
Engages family and supportive others in treatment, transition and discharge planning processes.
Evaluates clients progress towards goals, utilizes motivational enhancement strategies and determines appropriate interventions/modalities based on the individualized needs of each client.
Promotes participation in self-help and recovery support groups.
Effectively communicates and coordinates with treatment team members and referral sources.
Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with agency policy and regulator standards.
Must hold a CDC-A (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification in the State of Ohio.
Must have 6 months of experience providing individual and group counseling services.
Must have high school diploma or GED.
Preferred candidate will hold an Associates/Bachelors degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related Human Service Field or equivalency.
Knowledge of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual) and ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria.
Knowledge of and experiencecognitive behavioral therapeutic modalities and trauma-informed care.
Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook and Teams.
Adept at learning and navigating electronic health record systems.
