*Job Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in surgical nursing and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role involves working closely with surgeons and other medical professionals to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the surgical process. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for preparing patients for surgery, assisting during procedures, and providing post-operative care.

* 8 Weeks
* 40 Hours guaranteed
* 7a-330p- Monday-Friday
* On call: one overnight per week and one weekend per month (Friday @ 3:30pm to Monday @ 7:00am)
* Must be NY licensed
* BLS
* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

*Responsibilities*
* Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures.
* Assist surgeons and surgical teams with various tasks, including suturing and ventilating patients as needed.
* Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after surgery.
* Document medical records accurately, ensuring all patient information is up-to-date.
* Provide education to patients and families regarding post-operative care, including ostomy care and home care instructions.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
* Participate in travel nursing opportunities as required by the facility.
* Support patients with dementia care when necessary, ensuring their comfort and safety.

*Qualifications*
* Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
* Previous experience in an Operating Room setting preferred.
* Proficiency in medical records management and documentation practices.
* Knowledge of suture techniques and experience with botulinum toxin treatment is a plus.
* Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
* Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
* Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
