The role of the Pharmacists is accountable for dispensing prescriptions, administering appropriate vaccines/ immunizations, creating a great customer experience, continuing professional relations with medical providers, insurance carriers and third-party administrators, ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies and company policies and maintaining a positive, attentive and knowledgeable professional image for the pharmacy department.

Works in coordination with the Supervising Pharmacist on the overall Pharmacy Operation.
Performs all duties in accordance with Company rules, policies, safety requirements and security standards and all Local, State and Federal health and civil code regulations as they pertain to the Pharmacy Operation.
Adhere to the posted schedule, attendance policies and work shifts to meet the needs of the business as per direction of direct reports scheduling requirements.
Actively participates to maintain proper staffing to meet business needs and meet customer service needs.
Adhere and comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state, federal, health and civil code regulations.
Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous service and assistance
Create at every transaction an Exceptional Customer Experience exceeding the customer's expectations.
Prioritize daily task, with Supervising Pharmacist, to serve all customers to meet Service Priorities of Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, and Efficiency.
Adheres to and complies with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state, federal, health and civil code regulations.
Demonstrates complete compliance, responsibility and efficiency for filling prescriptions and evaluating and administering vaccines/immunizations according to all Federal, State and Local legal guidelines, regulations and company policies and procedures and maintain moral and ethical standards.
Focus on patient safety and therapeutic efficacy by preparing medication and reviewing and interpreting physician orders; detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed, and interacts with Physician to clarify and resolve issues or questions.
Maintain and support in the department, a positive and instructional interaction with all customers and associates.
Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with customer health information; ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and company policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all Fraud, Waste and Abuse programs and company policies and procedures.
Supervises in coordination with the Supervising Pharmacist, all work completed by the Pharmacy Support Staff. Takes responsibility of the staff when working.
Monitor and supervise, at all times, when working the activity in the department.
Assists in the evaluation of inventory, monitor inventory following asset protection policies, prepare for and supervise (if needed) the physical inventory, prepare reclamation following company guidelines and assure appropriateness of storage and disposition of medications in conformance with regulatory and legal compliance and established company policies and procedures.
Works with Supervising Pharmacist and Pharmacy Support Personnel to increase pharmacy sales, gross margins, increase script count, shrink goals and meet all key metric goals as required.
Proactively advances and executes pharmacy clinical initiatives to improve patient care and strengthen third party relationships; includes MTM, Outcomes, Immunization, and a resource for chronic disease state management.
Completes on a regular and timely basis all applicable department training programs and insures all associates in the pharmacy have completed all training requirements.
Supports and actively drives medication adherence to maximize patient care and minimize the negative impact of DIR fees by utilizing adherence tools.
Compounds non-sterile medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
Assists with the duties of teaching, mentoring, coaching and training of all pharmacy staff, while providing developmental opportunities to challenge them to grow.
Provide knowledgeable and complete information on prescription, over-the counter and other health issues as requested.
Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage and storage of pharmaceuticals. Counsels customers in accordance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
Responsible for, with the Supervising Pharmacists the execution of all control procedures.
Stores medication in an organized manner for safe prescription dispensing
Monitors medication to ensure identity, purity, strength and in-date standards. Follows all policies and procedures for reclamation.
Instructs and assists in the supervision of interns and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy.
Ensures, with the Supervising Pharmacist and Pharmacy Support Personnel the accurate and timely billing and compliance guidelines/requirements of third party claims with prompt attention to information requested for reconciliation of remittances and any claims correction.
Assists in the processes of all outdates, returns, miss-selections and recalls according to company policy and procedures.
Assists in the proper purchasing, inventory and handling of all supply items purchased.
Manages Pharmacy clerks and pharmacy department in coordination with the Supervising Pharmacist.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the profession by participation in organization memberships; attendance at meetings, lectures, in-services, seminars, reading journals, comply with National Standards of Continuing Education in order to maintain professional competency and proficiency.
Assists in leading, investigating and working with Supervising Pharmacist and Store Director on opportunities for the development of community partnerships; hold in-store events and participate in customer interaction with store customers to promote the Pharmacy, capitalize on opportunities and facilitate department growth.
Works with Supervising Pharmacist and Store Director to ensure all company initiatives, goals and programs are communicated and actively ensures all company programs are completed and goals met.
Works cooperatively with HABA Department and Dietitians for all programs related to Health and Wellness.
Assure that the quality of professional services is maintained.
Perform other duties as requested.
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Adhere and comply with all store rules, company policies, safety requirements, security standards and all local, state, federal, health and civil code regulations.

*Qualifications*
Minimum of fifth year college or university program with a degree in pharmacy.
Hold and maintain a current, valid in-date license/registration to practice Pharmacy in the state of practice including Immunization privilege and required company program compliance. (Blood Borne Pathogen, Fraud, Waste and Abuse Training and CPR certification.)
Have a clear understanding of Office of Medicaid Inspector General “OMIG” requirements. Must not currently be on any federal government exclusion lists (i.e. OIG, GSA), have any active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter.
Demonstrates the ability to read, write, speak, type, analyze and interpret and understand the English language.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, understand business metrics, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a schedules shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
Ability to bend, reach, push, pull and regularly left 25 pounds; occasionally 50 pounds.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, third party companies or members of the business community.
Demonstrates computer skills and the ability to use all required equipment, applications and current technology relating to the Pharmacy Operation.
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to solve any problems.
Demonstrate clear communication skills and demonstrate the ability to communicate with all associates, pharmacists, store directors and upper management.
