Job Description: Aircraft Technician II Unique Skills: Must have ability to obtain and maintain US Government Secret Security clearance. Willing to travel worldwide to support aircraft. Previous military and/or CLS experience preferred. Education and Experience Requirements: · High school diploma/GED. · Valid Driver's License required. · FAA Airframe and Powerplant certificate and two (2) years of aviation maintenance experience or four (4) years of aviation maintenance to include two (2) years of experience working on mid/large-size aircraft required. Position Purpose : Under minimal supervision, performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems and structures. Principal Duties and Responsibilies: Essential Functions: Communicate as required to receive and understand work assignments. Perform complex aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with minimal supervision. Coordinate with MTL, STM, and the Inspection Department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Assist as needed with shift turnovers. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely. Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.) Coordinate, accomplish, and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas. Provide training to less experienced technicians. Protect customers property (PTP). Additional Functions: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. Apply 6LS and Lean Initia- tives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility. Properly use and maintain Company-provided tools and equipment. Return items to designated storage area after use. Comply with safety rules and procedures. Use protective equipment as required and be alert for unsafe conditions. Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign -offs, and to charge labor to correct work orders. 6. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small spaces and restricted areas, and lift up to 50 pounds. 4. Available to work any shift. Must be able to use computer. Position Summary The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs, diagnosis, and maintenance of aircraft in the Jet Aviation Flight Services fleet. Minimum Requirements Airframe and Powerplant certificate required Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED) Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations applicable to assigned aircraft 4-7 years of business aviation experience Possess a valid driverââ?¬â?¢s license with a clean driving record Must be able to obtain an airport ID within ââ?¬Å?xââ?¬Â days of employment Ability to use to MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible schedules Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Main Responsibilities Provides technical support to engineers and scientists on a variety of technical tasks Develops and recommends procedures and methods, and prepares technical reports and documentation Performs technical evaluations of events to determine root cause; recommends corrective action Responsibilities are within the Technical Specialty/Skilled Trade Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines Requisitions replacement parts and equipment Other duties may be assigned, as needed Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network Main Responsibilities Cont. Desired Characteristics Associate degree in Aviation Management or 2-year Technical School credentials preferred Experience with technical manual database software SAP knowledge preferred but not required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
