Occupational Therapist Compensation

  • The pay for this position ranges from $80,000 to $105,000 annually.
  • Full-time position (36-40 hours per week).
  • Day shifts available.

Occupational Therapist Highlights

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Evaluate, plan, and provide therapeutic treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician to restore function and prevent disability.
  • Treatment Administration: Deliver prescribed therapies, including occupational agents, in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
  • Patient Interaction: Assist patients in maximizing their performance and functionality while living within their physical limitations.
  • Supervision: Coordinate, delegate, and supervise the work of supportive staff such as OTAs and Patient Care Assistants.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient care documentation, including progress reports, evaluations, and treatment plans.
  • Operational Involvement: Participate in departmental activities, including performance improvement initiatives, infection control, and safety programs.

Occupational Therapist Requirements

  • Certifications: Registered with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and Illinois State Licensure (Occupational Therapist). Current BCLS certification required.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Experience: Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift during work hours; ability to manage stress and emotional demands of the job.

Occupational Therapist Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient or inpatient rehabilitation therapy is a plus.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and treatment techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
