Job DescriptionJob Description

Elementary Math & Science Tutor (3rd-5th Grade) Part-Time Position

We're seeking an exceptional educator to join our team of mentors working with 3rd-5th grade students. The ideal candidate will excel in building strong connections with young learners while delivering engaging instruction in math and science through our interactive, project-based curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging math and science instruction through hands-on STEM projects
  • Create personalized learning plans that strengthen core math and science skills
  • Build student confidence in STEM subjects
  • Foster critical thinking and problem-solving abilities through experiential learning
  • Track and communicate student progress to parents
  • Collaborate with other tutors to ensure student success

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related area
  • Proven experience teaching/tutoring elementary students
  • Strong background in mathematics and science
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in age-appropriate ways
  • Enthusiasm for project-based STEM education

Schedule: Part-time, 9-15 hours per week. In school hours - 8AM - 3PM

Subject Area Expertise Required In: Math:

  • Elementary mathematics foundations
  • Problem-solving strategies
  • Data analysis and patterns

Science:

  • Basic scientific principles
  • Hands-on experimentation
  • STEM project facilitation
  • Scientific inquiry methods
