Job Title: Directional Boring Operator
Location: South Louisiana (project based)
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Generally, Monday to Friday (potentially up to 50 hrs. a week – 40 hrs. minimum)

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility for this position consists of installing fiber duct, conduit and cable through the use of directional drilling, trenching and/or pulling equipment. Ancillary responsibilities include job-site safety, utility location, construction coordination, as well as equipment mobilization and maintenance. Other duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be required and/or assigned as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operator a directional drill
  • Perform tasks related with the drilling process
  • Locate the bore path with DCI or Subsite
  • Day-to-day drilling and pullback of conduits or pipes for outside plant projects
  • Locate underground utilities and monitor locating process during drilling
  • Read prints and demonstrate good judgment in the field
  • Work well within a team with supervisors, managers, and crew members
  • Adhere to company safety procedures and policies
  • Work will include new builds, maintenance, and restoration in various areas
  • If CDL is applicable, operate a CDL class vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • CDL A (Preferred)
    • Driver's License (Required)
  • Experience:
    • 1 year of directional boring operation experience (REQUIRED)
  • Skills:
    • Able to perform general construction labor tasks
    • Operator a directional drill
    • Strong work ethic
    • Able to use locating equipment
