About the Finance Team:
In our Finance team, you will play a critical role by challenging business partners, driving value by understanding growth drivers, and maintaining financial stewardship and accountability. This role offers the opportunity to grow and develop your career across various finance functions. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can rapidly progress to a Controller role within the next few years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Leadership: Manage financial reporting, accounting, and performance analysis for this facility
- Strategic Planning: Develop annual operating plans (AOP), latest estimates (LE), and drive the delivery of financial results.
- Initiative Support: Partner with the team on developing and executing key initiatives.
- Performance Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement and work with site leadership to implement them.
- Internal Controls: Ensure a robust internal control and compliance environment at all third-party sites.
- Digital Optimization: Simplify reporting and decision-making processes using digital tools.
- Risk Management: Identify and manage risks and opportunities while providing performance insights.
The Team Environment:
- Location: Based in Montgomery, AL.
- Reporting: Directly report to the Finance Director
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate across finance teams (Tax, Insurance, Supply, FP&A) and other supply chain organizations, including Planning, Blending, Technical, and Procurement, to coordinate information flow.
Requirements / Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; a professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA) or MBA is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years in financial management and accounting, preferably in a manufacturing consumer goods or food environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in technical accounting, planning, analysis, reporting, and systems; SAP knowledge is a plus.
- Problem Solving: Ability to distill complex business issues and formulate clear, actionable plans.
- Influence: Strong networking skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and drive organizational change.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and cost accounting.
- Partnership & Communication: Ability to effectively partner and communicate across supply, finance, and various stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in financial analysis and able to interpret complex data for decision-making, reporting, and planning.
- Independent Mindset: Self-motivated with a strong stewardship mentality.
