Duties: (1) You will be responsible for: (1) Working as a Mammographer and Radiology medical professional focused on completing medical imaging tests and studies, detecting tissue abnormalities, and presenting them to medical staff for diagnosis (Mammography, Ultrasound, Bone Density, X-Ray, CT, MRI, etc.); (2) Greeting patients and introducing them to the imaging process, checking for special instructions, confirming patient services, and administering patient scans; (3) Helping patients understand the imaging process, procedure, explaining the equipment and purpose of the process, answering questions, while aiding in the overall patient care, helping patients reduce their anxiety over the process and procedure; (4) Conducting the imaging tests and study, making necessary adjustments to the equipment and patient, adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors, activating equipment to obtain images, providing patient instruction, minimizing radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques; (5) Following and championing established standards and procedures, developing imaging and observing results, while determining necessary adjustments for optimum results, and forwarding results to radiologists for interpretation; (6) Proactively providing preventative maintenance instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, communicating with vendors throughout the repair process, and maintaining equipment and product inventories; (7) Accurately completing patient medical record charting; (8) Participating in continuous training and expanding your skill and experience on a proactive and consistent basis.

 

Required:

 

Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).

 

Must have current Illinois Radiology Technologist licensure from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency.

 

Must be a successful graduate of an accredited radiography training program approved by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

 

Must have strong and current/recent Mammography certification and at least 2 years of skill/experience in Mammography.

 

Must be able to physically assist patients in the process and procedure of imaging.
