Millwright Mechanic

Match Staffing has a client in Spartanburg that is looking for a millwright mechanic. This is a first shift position 7am to 7pm Monday - Friday and 7am to 3:30pm on Fridays. 

As a millwright, you assemble, set up, and repair complex mechanical equipment. If you're mechanically minded and have excellent attention to detail, this is the job for you.

A millwright, also known as an industrial mechanic, is a skilled tradesperson who installs, repairs, and maintains industrial machinery in factories: 

• Install equipment: Millwrights install machinery and ensure it's properly aligned, leveled, and integrated with power sources. 
• Repair equipment: Millwrights repair and reassemble complex mechanical equipment. 
• Create maintenance plans: Millwrights create and implement maintenance plans to keep machinery running properly. 
• Upgrade machinery: Millwrights upgrade and retrofit machinery to keep up with modern advancements. 
• Recommend equipment changes: Millwrights consult with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications. 
• Read blueprints: Millwrights read and interpret blueprints to assemble equipment. 
• Follow regulations: Millwrights follow regulations concerning quality and safety, and may also have to adhere to union rules. 

Millwrights need to have technical skills and knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems. They also need to be physically able to handle tools, machines, and heavy equipment.
