Job DescriptionJob Description:Job Title: Electrical Engineering Intern Reports To: Electrical Engineering Team Lead Business Unit: Operations Department: Engineering Location: Hackberry, LA Primary Purpose: The Electrical Engineering Intern will participate in review of electrical engineering and design documents. The electrical work consists of power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers, protective relay panels, electrical buildings, battery banks, UPS systems, switchgears, MCC’s, plant lighting, grounding, conduit, cable tray, power and control cables and terminations, and witnessing field testing of electrical equipment. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required. Responsibilities: Review and prepare comments on electrical engineering and design documents.Participate in technical meetings with contractors and vendors as required.Participate and occasionally lead studies associated with specific technological developments and ad-hoc special technical studies as may be requested.Support Electrical, Instrument, and Controls Engineers.Create and present technical presentations.Exposure to project work flow and project meetings. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education:Must have completed 60 hours of college credit by May 2024 with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) is required. GPA of 3.0 or above is required. Experience: Experience with Electrical Equipment is preferred, but not necessary. Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities: MS-Office programs, especially Word and Excel Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Job Title: Instrument Tech Intern Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor Business Unit: Operations Department: Maintenance Location: Hackberry, LA Job Summary: Maintenance – Instrument Intern will intern 10 weeks with the instrument Department participating in daily routine maintenance work activities under the mentorship of the Instrument Supervisor. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required. Responsibilities: Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the publicKnowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situationsInstall, calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain instrument and electrical equipmentReads/interprets instrument & electrical prints, P&ID’s, and manuals to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipmentUses test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, electronic bridges, loop calibrators) and hand tools (i.e. drills, screwdrivers) as necessary to troubleshoot/maintain devices and systems for the facilityCompletes all written and electronic records ( i.e. work orders, calibration sheets, time cards, material requests) required to document the work in progress and as it is completedPerform safety related duties such as accepting work authorizations, hot work permits, confined space entry permits, etcBecome familiar with SAP/Work Order Planning, Scheduling process and work reporting. The Operator Intern will report to the Operations Manager. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required. Responsibilities:Under close supervision, observes and monitors plant operations and records data from control meters, gauges and records readings. Reports any Safety issues, malfunctions and unusual trends or conditions to Supervisor. Under close supervision assists the Outside Operators in Isolation, de-inventory of product lines, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) of equipment. *At no time will LOTO tasks be the sole responsibility of the Operator Intern. Under close supervision initially, and then with more independence, performs routine operations on equipment such as inspection, start-up, shut-down of utility equipment. An active participant and monitor of ship unloading and transfer operations. Performs all work in accordance with sound safety practices and uses appropriate safety devices and equipment. Under close supervision, prepares samples and conduct tests, such as pH, dissolved oxygen, chlorine and turbidity, in accordance with established procedures. Maintain appropriate records. Participates in the Emergency Response Action drills as a participant not as a responder. Under supervision, create SAP notifications for Maintenance to address any mechanical or I&E issues. Follow written and verbal direction from the Operations Supervisor and/or the Main Control Room Operator.Under close supervision and Operator approval, write general work permits.
