Position Overview :
The Business Development Officer is responsible for acquisition, retention and expansion of new and existing customer relationships. The Business Development Officer will primarily be working outside the office. This position provides exceptional customer service by taking ownership of the customer experience from introducing the customer to Citizens State Bank through profiling the customer, assessing their banking and borrowing needs, and recommending appropriate products based on a thorough knowledge of CSB products and services. This position develops new business and consumer relationships. Business development will be accomplished through an aggressive sales effort resulting in quality growth of accounts. This position builds a thorough profile for each customer and maintains frequent personal, phone or email contact in an effort to grow and deepen customer relationships. At all times, provides superior customer service.

Primary Duties:

  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for potential clients.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Attending community meetings and networking events.
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Mortgage Loan Originators, and Treasury Management Officers to ensure requirements are met such as sales numbers and profit goals.
  • Strong understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
  • Cold calling businesses to secure initial appointments.
  • Local travel required. Valid driver's license, vehicle, and liability insurance are required.

Requirements:

  • Successful relationship driven business professional in client facing service, sales or marketing positions
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or five years of outside business development with a portfolio
  • Experience in a financial institution is a plus.
  • Proven communication, organizational, and public relation skills
  • Great research skills
